Overview

Enjoy stunning coastal views and abundant bird- and plant-life on this walk along the Wales Coastal Path from Afon Wen to Pwllheli, much of it designated an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). After a short bus ride from Pwllheli to Afon Wen, we set off across fields to the coast. The route then winds its way alongside the beach and past the Hafen y Mor Holiday Park (previously Butlins) to reach a trig point on the low headland of Pen -ychain, just 24 metres above sea level. An artillery range was sited near here in WW II. We continue above the stoney shoreline, finishing with a walk along the sandy beach to reach Pwllheli.
