Starting point the National Trust Car Park, Alderley Edge Grid reference: SJ859773 Postcode: SK10 4UB Start time: 10:00 approximately 6 miles easy/moderate very muddy in places. Total ascent 819ft (OS)
The car park costs £7.00 for the day but is free for National Trust members. There are toilets and a café which walkers may wish to visit at the end of the walk. Free parking is available in the layby at Beacon Lodge.
From the carpark we walk to Beacon Lodge and cross the B5087 and walk down through Windmill Woods. From there we walk across the fields to rejoin the B5087 before turning left on to Woodbrook Road and back onto NT land passing the Wizard’s Well and Castle Rock where we will stop for coffee. From there we will walk to Stormy Point, on to Adders Moss Farm, Finlow Hill, Bradford lane and Artists Lane before returning through Windmill Woods back to Beacon Lodge and the National Trust carpark. Please bring a drink/coffee.
