We will walk from the St Aidans Visitor Centre Car Park around the perimeter of the Nature Reserve to the footbridge at Methley. We then follow the Leeds Liverpool canal to the Swillington Bridge at Woodlesford where we will stop for a picnic lunch at a designated picnic area beside the canal. After lunch we walk back along the opposite bank of the canal and back into and through the centre of the Nature Reserve back to the visitor centre CP, cafe and toilets.
Spare binoculars will be available.
Roadside parking on Wood Lane. RSPB CP is pay and display (£4) Free to members.
public transport: No.163 stops at Great Preston Village Hall on Preston Lane. It is a short walk down Wood Lane to the RSPB Visitor Centre. The bus runs every 15/20 minutes.
Suitable for dogs on a lead within the NR.
