This is a very good walk for winter with good footpaths, tracks and lanes on mainly well drained chalk and gravel beds. Passing interesting cottages, fields with horses and sheep, woods, ponds and streams, this is a varied walk with some good views.
In the woods, there are one or two short stretches of swampy mud, but these can be by-passed. There are also one or two rather narrow stretches of path here.
The walk takes us near to the Roman Villa, but it is closed in winter and so we will go again in the spring when it reopens and maybe do a tour. There's a good picnic area there and ice creams when open.
There are about 5 or 6 stiles.
There are no main roads to cross.
The Pantry Barn Cafe and shop are open where we park at Breamore. Also toilets.
