Caldbeck

This walk starts in Caldbeck, calls at Heskett Newmarket before heading to the base of the Northern Fells and following farm paths back to Caldbeck. The walk takes in woods, views of the hills, open fell, an impressive limestone gorge and an ancient trackway lined with gnarled old hawthorns.  There are a lot of unavoidable stiles and some slippery, muddy sections but some lovely riverside woodland walking.
