Overview

Starting from the village of Hilton we enter the Ministry of Defence Training area and proceed up Scordale before branching off up Swindale Edge. We continue on up on fairly decent paths until we cross Christy Bank Sike and head West. From here we follow the contours until the final "slog" up to the summit of Roman Fell over a large section of heather hummocks. After reaching the summit we turn South East again over rough ground before descending towards Howgill Fold and back to Hilton.
