This is a joint coach trip with Slough U3A to visit the tulip festival at Arundel Castle. There is also the historic town of Arundel to explore with its Georgian and Victorian streets with tea rooms, galleries and specialist shops. The French Gothic Roman Catholic Cathedral overlooks the town, and you can visit WWT Arundel Wetland Centre.
River Arun and Arundel Park
For those you like to explore on foot there is an optional 2-hour morning walk. The walk follows the River Arun and then alongside Swanbourne Lake into Arundel Park with glorious views across a steep sided valley before heading back into the town. Bring a snack to have on the walk. We pass a cafe and toilets. To book a place on the coach contact Joyce at windsoranddistrictramblers@gmail.com. Coach fare is £20 + £16 for the gardens, Total £36
The walk is from Ramblers Routes.
Meet in the free Upton Court Park car park, Upton Court Road at 8.45 to board the coach which will leave at 9am. The journey is expected to take 1.5 hours. The coach will leave at 4pm for the return journey to Slough.
