Walk 33 from the Shrewsbury Ramblers’ book of 20 new walks.
The uphill stretches are short, if quite sharp, interspersed with easier level tracks and lanes. The views of Cothercott, the Long Mynd and the Stiperstones are stunning - there are only 3 stiles and plenty of newly installed kissing gates.
We enjoyed this walk in the winter and thought we would return when the daffodils should be in flower.
Report from last year….. As you can see from the photos, there were plenty of daffodils still in bloom and the views of the South Shropshire hills and the Stiperstones were stunning. We saw plenty of wildlife, including roe deer, hares, curlews, buzzards and skylarks - apparently undeterred by the shooting activity during the winter months.
The Satnav directions should bring you to the car park, near the end of a long, winding lane, on the left just past the first cattle grid. Good luck!
