A lovely walk along wooded footpaths and beside tumbling brooks. A couple of inclines or descents giving time to enjoy the views, though mainly we circuit the contours. The Church of St James was originally dedicated to St Christina which explains the name of the village: originally Christenstowe; it has gradually contracted to today’s name.
From Bridford we take lane and footpath through Rowdon Rock woods to Middle Hole, Bowden Farm and Christow Church. From Christow, we follow the footpath to Court Barton then the lane towards Broomhill House. Follow the footpath towards Pook's Cottages then take the lane back to Bridford
If you would like to join this walk, please notify the leaders, preferably by email, so that they can inform you of any late changes to arrangements.
