This is an early evening walk - taking in a section of the Magnificent 11 - to celebrate the arrival of the longer spring days.
We'll start our walk at Muirend Station and wander down to Linn Park where the Mag 11 starts. We'll follow Part 1 of the route through the park high above the River Cart, over Snuffmill Bridge, uphill to Court Knowe and then onwards into King's Park.
We'll then leave the Mag 11 behind and make our way up to the highest point in King's Park (where we can stop for a drink and or snack if it's a nice evening) before dropping down into the streets of King's Park and the railway station. Walkers can pick up a train back into the city centre from here.
The walk should finish about 7.15pm so there is also an option to walk about a further mile into Mount Florida or Battlefield to round off the evening with refreshments.
The walk will start at 5.45pm at Muirend Station just after the 5.26pm train arrives from Glasgow Central. Walkers can meet the Group at Muirend Station if that suits better. Please speak to the leader.
Please note there is some fairly steep uphill and downhill, a lot of it on steps, and the path can be muddy and slippery in places. Walking boots or shoes will be required.
This is the first in a series of short walks along the Magnificent 11 so we can look out for any issues with maintenance or waymarks and report to the Glasgow City Council park rangers.
Booking for this walk opens two weeks before on Wednesday 26 March.
