Overview

An approximately 8 mile walk in Inverclyde, climbing from Fort Matilda to Lyle Hill (130m) and along the escarpment (202m) to Burneven Hill before returning along the promenade to Gourock railway station. Expect paths, pavements and promenade, as well as potentially muddy moorland stretches, a steep initial climb to Lyle Hill, a steady ascent to the escarpment and two small walls to climb. Fingers crossed for spectacular views across the Clyde to the Arrochar Alps, the mountains of Argyll and towards Bute and Arran.
