Starting from Whitley Chapel village hall, our route goes through fields and woodland past Dye House - where, in the 17th/18th century, wool was fulled and dyed - on to the hamlet of Juniper. From there, field paths and minor roads take us to Peth Foot and across Devil's Water, which we follow south-east past the old Dukesfield smelt mill. From here, we head towards Raw Green where we cross a minor road to Aydon Shields and continue north-west back to Whitley Chapel. A walk full of interest and with lots to see!
