We are the Dearne Valley Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This linear walk is along the green space of the Sheffield and Tinsley Canal towpath. You will see barges, bridges, weirs, locks, artwork and the New York Stadium. The path is paved throughout with no mud, no stiles and no elevation. It's a 3 mile linear walk to Meadowhall, 6 miles if you walk back to the start.
There are options to have lunch at Meadowhall, walk on further towards Sheffield, return via the same path or take a train, tram or bus back to Rotherham. Note that dogs are not permitted on Sheffield trams but are on trains and buses.
