A pleasant circular walk in the Herts. countryside north of Digswell (North Welwyn). During the walk we visit a Victorian Fernery created in an old chalkpit and Mardley Heath with remnants of old charcoal workings. Bring a picnic to eat at the pub in Rabley Heath where drinks and toilets are available. Some climbs but nothing too steep, a variety of paths though woods and open fields with some road walking.
Could be muddy in places.
