Overview

Our walk starts from Lower Hartshay. From there we make our way to Pentrich, which gave its name to the famous Pentrich Revolution of 1817 and was the centre of a lot of the planning. We also visit Butterley Reservoir, built originally to provide water for the Cromford Canal and crossed by a causeway carrying the heritage railway line operated by the Midland Railway Trust.
