Overview

We start our walk by following a track up to the secluded lake of Llyn Gelli Gain. From here we detour eastward to the rebuilt Llechwedd military observatory. We then head for the higher ground of Craiglaseithin before swinging round to climb towards Moel Oernant (503m) approaching the summit trig point from the southeast. After a steep descent from the top we pick up a footpath which we follow back to Pen y Stryd.
