This walk rises out of the village of Oxenhope, starting at the steam railway station made famous in the Railway Children films. It rises over Penistone Hill, and skirts moorland onto Oxenhope Stoop Hill. Following fields, road and footpaths, this route can reveal excellent views over the Worth Valley and as far as the Yorkshire 3 Peaks….on a clear day!
Pennine walking can be exposed and muddy in the winter, so walkers are encouraged to check forecast conditions and prepare accordingly. Bring a packed lunch and drink. Some stiles may be encountered. Dogs on a lead please.
