Overview

This walk begins in the beautiful town of Hebden Bridge, and ascends to overlook this Happy Valley! The walk will use footpaths and bridleways in use since the packhorse days of the wool industry and visit the wooded slopes of the Calder valley.

Pennine walking can be fairly wet and sometimes slippery in the winter months so good footwear is highly recommended. Bring a packed lunch and warm drink, but look forward to a post-walk reward in one of Hebden's many pubs or cafes.

Meet at Hebden Bridge Marina, adjacent to Hebden Bridge cinema, off the A646 New Road. Parking can be found in a number of nearby pay-and-display carparks, and at time of print some on-road parking is available on the main road outside the railway station. Weekends are very busy, so public transport by bus or rail is recommended.
