This is a circular walk starting from the layby outside the Korean War Memorial car park (closed in the evenings). We will visit the Korean War Memorial before ascending to reach a medieval Refuge Stone & the more recent Witchcraig Wall from which there are great far reaching views. The walk then continues through the southern woodland edge of Beecraigs Country Park & upon leaving the woodland ascends up Cockleroy Hill. Again there are magnificent views from the summit which we will enjoy before descending the hill & returning through woodland & along tracks to return to the start point.
The walk is on surfaced & muddy hillside & woodland tracks so walking boots/gaiters are recommended & a walking pole if you wish.
Nights will be drawing in noticeably now so although sunset is not until 8.49pm it is recommended that you start getting into the habit of having a headtorch with you on evening walks now.
