From Tring Station we follow 'The Ridgeway' over Pitstone Hill with good views towards Ivinghoe Beacon. Then we descend to pass Pitstone Windmill, through Pitstone Village to College Lake Wildlife Centre at Bulbourne. The lakes are set in former chalk quarries, supporting more than a thousand different wildlife species. The Eco Visitor Centre has stunning views of the lakes with a small cafe, gift shop and toilets. Bring picnic lunch with time at cafe for drinks later. The two mile 'Wild Trail' around the Nature Reserve is included to see lovely views across the lakes, hopefully spotting birds from the hides. On leaving the reserve we follow the GU canal back to Tring Station.
Meet at the right hand end of the footbridge to Tring Station near the main carpark as we will start the walk from that side.
No toilets at Tring Station
Toilets at the Nature Reserve in 2 areas.

Possibly muddy in certain sections of Ridgeway and crossing fields after wet weather, but very good easy walking paths at the reserve. Moderate ascent up Ridgeway in first part of walk.
