This circular walk follows a peaceful canal towpath from Marsden, through woods and past intriguing industrial heritage in the Colne Valley. The walk then heads uphill beside a beck to extensive moorland, with expansive views of the South Pennines.
Walk distance is approximately 8 miles with a circa 300m ascent. Should take 3.5 to 4.5 hours to complete.
Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome.
Starting and end point at Marsden train station, which has services from Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield.
PLEASE NOTE: Major engineering works at Huddersfield train station on this weekend means there will be a number of bus replacement services serving Marsden station. If coming by public transport, please plan ahead and have a look at the options available to you on www.nationalrail.co.uk.
There is a small amount of parking at Marsden station, and other car parks in Marsden also.
Please note there are no toilet facilities at Marsden station.
