Walk Description:
A varied and scenic coastal and parkland walk starting from Ayr, with highlights including Greenan Castle, Burns Memorial Garden, Rozelle and Belleisle Parks, and the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum.
We begin at Ayr Station, walking through the town to reach the esplanade with beautiful views over the Firth of Clyde. Following the coastline south, we pass Ayr Beach and continue towards the dramatic cliffside ruins of Greenan Castle – a great photo stop.
From there, we head inland along riverside and woodland paths into Rozelle Park, visiting the peaceful Burns Memorial Garden. After a short stop at the Burns Birthplace Museum (café and toilets available), we continue through the landscaped grounds of Belleisle Park, with its formal gardens and mature trees.
The final stretch returns to Ayr station through leafy residential streets and local green spaces.
Please note: a beach section early in the walk is overgrown and uneven – sturdy footwear is advised.
