Overview

The Walk begins and ends on Moorside Lane Holbrook where you can park opposite Holbrook C of E Primary School. It is around the corner from The Dead Poets Inn, a very popular 'watering hole' where those who are interested can enjoy a drink following the walk. Having walked a short distance across a field of very friendly sheep, we cross a stream via a bridge made from tree roots. We then walk through a couple of villages and we have a coffee stop at a village hall. After Horsley Village, we head for Horsley Carr Forestry. Eventually joining the Midshires Way, then we follow the Derwent Valley towards Millford where we pass another popular 'watering hole' called the Holly Bush before heading back towards Holbrook. On the way to the start, there is a public toilet at Little Eaton Village Hall next to a car park.
