This pleasant walk follows the Robin Hood Way north west along the river Greet, and comes south through Norwood Park and down through fields and quiet minor roads through the grounds of Brackenhurst College, back to Southwell. It is generally flat, and could be muddy along the banks of the Greet, but will probably be drier in May. There are 2 stiles. We pass a former flour mill and a former cotton mill, now flats. Car parking is free on a Sunday at the car park opposite the cathedral on Church Street. Toilets are available at the park where we start the walk. Please bring a packed lunch.
This is a moderate walk. If you are coming by bus from Nottingham, take the Number 26 at 9.05 a.m. from King Street, bay K1. The journey is about 40 minutes.
