Overview

B WALK DESCRIPTION: After leaving the layby at Hackman's Gate we follow footpaths across countryside to reach the village of Churchill, having first crossed the Stourbridge-Kidderminster railway. In Churchill we will stop to take a look at the old Churchill forge which is an historical site well known in the area. Next we use bridleways and footpaths to take us to the small hamlet of Iverley before turning west and making for the Fairy Glen. This is a small woodland which fairies are said to inhabit. I have not seen any myself so if anyone spots them let me know! After this we make our way across country with good views of the Malvern Hills and surrounding area, then after having our picnic lunch we will pass by the Churchill and Blakedown golf club to again cross the railway and make for the village of Blakedown. This is where we will have an afternoon drink at "The Old House At Home" before continuing the last two miles to the coach.
