A walk on relatively level terrain, mostly on field footpaths, though there is some walking on quiet country lanes. The walk takes us through the historic village of Ford with its attractive farm houses and farm buildings, all built in local Shropshire orange brick, on to an old wartime camp, now repurposed as a poultry farm and on through old green lanes and a watery, sunken lane back to Ford.
Waterproof boots are recommended because of the sunken lane and a couple of muddy stretches. There are 6+ stiles, all in good condition.
There will be an early stop for coffee at St Michael’s Church, Ford and a second stop for lunch. Please bring your own refreshments.
