Overview

A very scenic walk exploring the villages around Kirkbymoorside. First off we visit Kirkdale and the Saxon Church of St. Gregory and also the famous Kirkdale Cave. Next up is Fadmoor followed by the lovely village of Gillamoor and the view across the moors hopefully with the heather at its best. The route is based around field and woodland paths, bridleways and quiet country lanes. The paths are generally in good condition though overgrown in places. The walk is fairly flat with one gradual ascent up through woods near Fadmoor. There are 5 stiles.
