Our route is along the Victoria Embankment to the Tram Bridge. From here we enter the King's Meadow Nature Reserve and the River Leen. This leads to Lenton Lane which is followed for a short distance before we descend to the Nottingham Canal. We head east along the towpath, passing warehouses, retail outlets and apartment blocks. Just after the Canal turns south, we cross to the towpath on the opposite bank. Part way along here are a series of colourful murals. At the end of the canal, we turn at a lock and follow the River Trent for the short distance back to Trent Bridge.
This walk is part of my Flat 5 Series where all the walks are about 5 miles and are mainly level. The walk is 4.8 miles and has a total ascent of 36 ft with no stiles. The path is usually sound whatever the weather with little or no mud.
