A day that encompasses moorland and woodland walking with a few Tors thrown in for good measure. Starting from Trendlebere Down middle carpark, with wide open views over the valley of the River Bovey we will climb over the down to cross Becka Brook before stopping for coffee at the Medieval settlement below Hound Tor. Taking in the massive outcrop of Hound Tor we will go to Bowerman's nose and Hayne Down Tors to drop once again into the valley and Becka Brook stopping for lunch near Becky Falls. The afternoon sees us following the Dartmoor Way to pick up the River Bovey and back to the cars.
The terrain is open moorland with paths, tracks and minor roads. There are some steep sections both up and down and a sting in the tail at the end.
Bring a drink for our mid-morning coffee stop and something to eat for our lunch stop.
Please book in advance by texting walk leader. Please don’t email.
