We will walk along a section of the John Muir Way from Kirkintilloch to Croy taking in the spectacular views from Bar Hill and Croy Hill.
The route starts on the towpath of the Forth & Clyde canal in Kirkintilloch. Escaping the town heading east, you are quickly enjoying the company of wild fowl and the expanse of Campsie Hills to the north,
Expect short steep climbs at Bar Hill and then further along when we reach Croy Hill. Both hills overlook the Antonine Wall and Glasgow's tower blocks are visible in good weather. Bar Hill has some remains of the well and bath house which were part of its Roman hill fort. On a good day its the perfect spot for lunch.
The last mile takes us down to Croy train station for the short hop back to Queen St.
