We are the York Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Join us for a gentle evening walk in the countryside East of York and, if you wish, for a drink afterwards in The Fox Inn at Stockton on the Forest.
Meeting at The Fox Inn we leave the village on Beanland Lane then a footpath to Ruddcarr Lane. We head generally North Easterly along this usually quiet lane with views across fields to Brockfield Hall. On reaching Warthill we walk through the village taking a footpath across fields near a Nursery at the northern end of the village. Continuing on footpaths across fields and along farm tracks via a small wood to Carrbank Lane; we then return to Stockton on the Forest.
Meeting and starting points are in front of the Fox Inn, Stockton on Forest. Limited car parking available at the Fox Inn; otherwise on street parking with consideration for residents. Stockton on the Forest is on the Coastliner Bus routes 840 and 843 which stop outside the Fox Inn. Please check timetables.
