How to get there : 10.13 Liverpool Street, 10.20 Hackney Downs, 10.27 seven sisters. I will get on at seven sisters.

This is an easy circular walk on largely even level ground. Maybe mud

LUNCH The lunch stop is Waltham Abbey where there are lots of benches. Pub to be investigated Those who want to may look at the ruins and Abbey grounds.

DETAILS: The Lea Valley is a wide floodplain but on the Herts/Essex border just before Cheshunt we find the tree-lined lakes of River Lee Country Park. There are good opportunities for bird-watching in this wetland landscape of rivers and filled-in gravel pits.  A series of sculptures are dotted around the park and the walk route goes past many of them. The lunchtime stop is in the historic market town of Waltham Abbey.
