Overview

This walk follows Section 12 of the Green Chain, which was planned but never waymarked, from Mottingham to the Thames at Cutty Sark in Greenwich.

We pass through many green areas en route, including the river Quaggy, Blackheath, Greenwich Park, the Cutty Sark and the Royal Naval College.

This is intended as a morning walk, ending around 1pm, in Greenwich town centre, where there are a large range of supermarket, café, pub and restaurant options for lunch.

Toilets: Mottingham station toilets are reported as out of order, so use toilets on train, after which toilets at Kidbrooke and in Greenwich.

Train: Charing Cross 09:36; Waterloo East 09:39; London Bridge 09:45 (all Zone 1); Lewisham 09:55 (Zone 2/3); arrive Mottingham 10:05 (Zone 4).

Drop-out points: drop-out options at Kidbrooke (3 miles), Blackheath (4 miles) and on various bus routes along the way.
