Overview

The heart of Constable Country. At a moderate pace, mostly flat but some gentle undulation in the Stour Valley, Essex-Suffolk border. A couple of stiles. We walk via fields to the attractive town of Dedham then close to the Stour to Flatford Mill, where there is a small Constable exhibition, Willy Lott's cottage, a wildlife garden and National Trust tea shop. Time will be allowed at Flatford Mill to view the attractions, before the shortish walk back to Manningtree station.
