A mainly flat coastal walk from the historic Cinque Port town of Rye with its cobbled, twisty streets along the River Rother to the sea at Camber Sands. At low tide Camber beach is 650 yards wide lined by magnificent sand dunes. After lunch back to Rye through grassy meadows, the southern most part of Romney Marsh visiting the unusual 'barn church' of E Guldeford on the way.
Note: The section along Camber Sands beach (about a mile) is entirely on sand.
Train: St Pancras High Speed 9.40, Stratford International 9.48, Arr Ashford 10.18, (Sandwich train). At Ashford change to 10.24 (Eastbourne train). Arr Rye 10.46.
Lunch: Cafes/pub in Camber or picnic on the beach.
Toilets: On arrival at Rye and at Camber.
