This walk centres around the ascent and descent of Chrome Hill, a limestone reef knoll south of Buxton.

The way up is a steep, seemingly never-ending climb, whereas the way down involves some scrambling /
bottom sliding. Even so, the views of the nearby Parkhouse Hill and the surrounding Peak District are magnificent and are well worth the climb.

The rest of the walk takes in beautiful limestone hills and dales, tracks and field paths and an interesting wander through the Health and Safety Executive site.

This is a strenuous walk and a good level of fitness is required. There are no bailout points en route.

There is a steep ascent and descent over Chrome Hill and some paths across fields will be muddy, so bring appropriate footwear.
