Simon Foster was a walk leader and member of Capital Walkers who recently passed away. Simon lived in Petts Wood so I have decided to do a walk to Petts Wood in his memory. Many of the longer term members of Capital will remember Simon. As Simon used to live in Petts Wood the walk will be on the London Loop from Hayes to Petts Wood.
We start at Hayes and walk through Hayes Common. Then we pass Keston Ponds and the Wilberforce Oak - famous for the spot where William Pitt vowed to abolish the slave trade.
We will stop for lunch at High Elms Country Park - where there is a cafe. Please bring a packed lunch or eat in the cafe.
After lunch we will walk through the village of Farnborough and Jubilee Country Park before reaching Petts Wood
Pub stop at Petts Wood
Drop out points- bus from Farnborough
No booking required
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors, such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
