From The George Hotel we take The Teesdale Way to Gainford. We leave the start of the village along Eden Lane then footpaths and a little road walking to Headlam and onto Killerby. From here we take the path to Summerhouse cross over Staindrop Road and back to Piercebridge.
Quite a flat walk but muddy underfoot in some places which could make it a bit slippery so you might want to bring walking poles. There may be a little bit of extra road walking to get to Killerby if we can't get across a stream. There is one footpath which is a bit overgrown underfoot
