Overview

This walk is also a Bollington Walking Festival Walk

A moderate walk 9.7 miles total ascent 1882ft (OS)

We will make a steady ascent from Smithy Lane up across the fields to the left of Ginclough Farm via some high stiles. When we meet the B5470 we'll walk a short stretch along the road before taking the footpath down towards Withinlow Farm and on to Harrop Fold Farm where we turn right up the track towards the main road. We take a footpath to the left which takes us down towards Harrop House Farm and on up to the B5470 again. This stretch can be muddy after heavy rain. From there we turn left along Bakenstonedale Road for a short stretch before turning left towards Further Harrop Farm. From there we take the upper path through Harrop Wood, Oakenbank, Savio House, Kerridge Ridge and back to Rainow via Sugar Lane.
Please bring drinks and a packed lunch.
