A flat stroll along the canal and a chance to explore the lakes that formed in the area following the excavation of gravel. With historical finds dating back to the bronze age this area has a rich history. Shardlow, nicknamed Rural Rotterdam, is considered Britain's most complete surviving example of a canal village, with over 50 Grade II listed buildings.
