Explore the world's first dinosaur models hidden in a south London park. The 30 Grade I listed, life-size statues of dinosaurs and other extinct animals at Crystal Palace Park that have thrilled visitors for 166 years. However, they are now in danger and have recently been added to Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register. Led by Aaron Hunter who is an academic and palaeontologist.
You need to book your own place on the 21 September guided tour. Bookings can be made from midday 21 August at the earliest. Events get booked out very quickly! See web site link below for details and to make a booking (free of charge).

This tour is part of the London Open House Festival (14 - 22 September), that opens up and celebrates the city’s architecture, special places and neighbourhoods, with free open days and events taking place across all 33 London boroughs.
After the tour you are welcome to join fellow Ramblers for a short walk to the Crystal Palace Bowl where can have a picnic lunch or there is coffee, cake etc. available at the Concert Café. You can also enjoy a self guided wander around the park and/or have a go on the pedalos on the Boating Lake.
