Overview

A brisk walk over wide upland fields to East Worldham and the woods, hangers and hidden pastures that surround Selborne. From there, we cross wooded Selborne Common and gentle ridges of downland past Chawton, the home of Jane Austen for the last eight years of her life.

Lunch: at Selborne. Please bring picnic - pub for drinks/loos only.

Train/transport details: London Waterloo 8:42; Clapham Junction 8:49; (South Western train to Alton).  Buy return to Alton.
