Unlike its sibling, The City of London, The City of Westminster is quite a large place. I have therefore broken the circuit around its extremities into a couple of walks. This first section starts in the far northwest at Westbourne Park and finishes in the far southeast, at Temple Underground Station.
On the way we will pass through Kensington Gardens, a maze of mews' and Hyde Park. After heading down through Belgravia we will finish with a walk along the Thames taking in many of the small gardens that are scattered along its northern bank.
I won't be sticking slavishly to the boundary and will deviate to take more enjoyable routes (and no swimming down the middle of the Thames will be required).
The first section of the walk seems to be bereft of public toilets, so please try to come prepared to walk for about forty minutes before having a comfort break as there are not many suitable bushes.
The finishing time is an estimate only and will be dependent on a number of factors such as, weather, the speed at which the group walks and the number of breaks taken.
I intend to carry on after the official finish point, at Temple Underground Station, and recce the first part of the next section of the walk which runs through the Inns of Court. You are welcome to join me and we will probably end up at The Penderel's Oak near Holborn Underground Station.
No booking required.
Multiple drop-out points.
