Coming out of Canterbury we walk through arable fields along the Pilgrim’s Way. We pass the entrance to Higham Park and Gardens (links to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) and then more arable fields to reach the quaint village of Womenswold and Woolage Village, which was built for colliery workers. The trail then climbs through a tunnel of trees and hedgerow, along tracks and lane into Shepherdswell, where there are hourly trains back to Canterbury and London.
