Overview

An early spring walk through Richmond Park across Ham Common to Ham House. The lawn are planted with over 500,000 crocuses, these pockets of purple create a beautiful wave of colour across the vast lawns on the South Side of the mansion. The walk resumes after lunch along the river to Richmond Station. Whilst the walk is easy it will be at a moderate pace. Expect some mud in the park.

Ham House is a National Trust Property. Entry is £15, free to members, RHS and Art Fund members; Gardener's World 241 are also accepted.

Lunch is a picnic in Richmond Park with a second stop at the Orangery Cafe at Ham House for tea. The cafe and toilets are not accessible without entering the property.

Toilets are available for 20p at the entrance and exit to the park.

Train 09.57 London Waterloo; 10.06 Clapham Junction, 10.13 Wimbledon. Freedom Pass Holders do not require tickets.
