This starts as an easy canal walk, followed by a moderate climb, returning on a good track.
The path uphill is rocky, can get muddy and might be slippery after wet weather.
There are fine views on the hill climb.
This walk is not suitable for novice walkers and a good level of fitness is required.
We pass under the historic Saddleworth Viaduct on this walk.
