Overview

The initial part of the walk starts in Llanymynech village and  follows the tow path along  the Montgomery Canal , after initially joining close to the No 92 canal bridge. The walk continues east into England , passing the bridge abutments where the old railway crossed the canal , onto the canal road bridge. The walk then heads towards Llynclys via fields  and country lanes crossing the road at the White Lion public house . The route then passes by the Nature Reserve on Turner Lane continuing to the Nature Reserve at   Llanymynech , where it then follows the English incline to the Hoffman Kiln and finally back to the starting point .
