Did you know there are still around 1500 gas powered street lights in London? London was the first city in the world to be lit by gas-lamps and gaslights have continued to illuminate our streets for over 200 years.
This early evening walk of about 4 miles is through Hyde Park, St James's and Westminster to experience the soft glow of gas street lighting. There will be some descriptions as we go alone.
Meet: At the exit of Lancaster Gate tube station.
Toilets: Please note - there are no toilet facilities on the walk
Train: Lancaster Gate is on the Central line - Zone 1.
