Meet Point: Manchester Oxford Road station, on the platform. Alternatively, meet the group on the train or at Adlington (Lancashire) station. NB there are no direct trains to Adlington from Piccadilly or Victoria.

Transport to Walk Start: 10:02 train from Manchester Oxford Road (final destination Blackpool North).

Suggested Ticket: Adlington (Lancashire) Off-Peak Day Return £8.10.

Walk Start: Adlington (Lancashire) Railway Station at 10:40.

Waypoints: Upper Rivington Reservoir, Alance Bridge, Lead Mines Clough, Pike Stones, Anglezarke Reservoir, The Street.

Return Services: between x:35 and x:38 each hour until 22:36, then last train at 23:08.

Extra: No toilets at Walk Start or en route, so please use the train's. Map: Explorer 287. No dogs please except registered assistance dogs.

This is a nice mixed walk with reservoirs, woodlands, moors and good views.

Some paths are uneven. Some areas will be muddy after rain and there is one short boggy section.

NB - this is not a walk to the summit of Rivington Pike.
