Please take the 09.39 train from Euston Station to Tring
The walk starts at 10.21 from Tring station ( no toilets)
Please buy a cheap day return to Tring
There is a limit of 20 attendees for this Walk and booking is essential. Do not email me to book as you need to book on our website www.nelr.org.uk
Starting out from Tring we follow the Grand Union Canal in single file for about 45 minutes then walk through ancient woodland and commons of Ashridge estate. Expect lovely leaf colour and extensive Chiltern views. After lunch we walk through woods and ascend to the Berkhamsted WW1 Troop Training Trenches. The walk ends in a descent into Berkhamstead where there could be a pub finish. There are four trains an hour to Euston. The afternoon includes some uneven hilly ground which could be slippery if wet.
I have have 6 booked places at the lunch pub, the Bridgewater Arms is in the picturesque village of Little Gaddesen. Please email laurajacobs705@msn.com if you want a pub lunch place. Picnickers can sit at the war memorial some 200 metres from the pub and can go to the pub for drinks. There are no buses at the lunch village of little Gaddesen. There is a hybrid bus taxi called www.hertslynx.co.uk from the bus-stop outside the pub but I could not find a ride to a station. Anyone thinking of dropping out might wish to check if there is a suitable service to a station.
The walk is 9.6 miles
